I don't know if I will have the time to write anymore letters because I might be too busy trying to participate. So if this does end up being the last letter I just want you to know that I was in a bad place before I started high school and you helped me. Even if you didn't know what I was talking about or know someone who has gone through it, you made me not feel alone. Because I know there are people who say all these things don't happen. And there are people who forget what it's like to be 16 when they turn 17. I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening, I am here and I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive, and you stand up and see the lights on the buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you're listening to that song and that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment I swear, we are infinite.하지만 지금 이 순간만큼은 책에서의 이야기가 아니야. 일어나고 있는 이야기고 난 여기에 있어. 그리고 난 그녀를 보고 있어. 그녀는 참 아름다워. 난 알 수 있어. 네 삶이 슬픈 이야기가 아니란 사실을 알게 될 순간이 올 거라는 걸. 넌 살아 있어. 넌 일어서서 건물들의 불빛들을 볼 수 있어. 널 궁금하게 하는모든 것들을 볼 수 있어. 또한 지금 달리면서 나오는 노래를 들을 수 있지. 세상에서 네가 가장 사랑하는 사람들과 함께. 그리고 지금 이 순간, 난 확신할 수 있어. 우리의 한계는 없어.

There is an amazing thing that happens when you make a mix tape. I'm not telling you anything you don't know. Of course, you've made your own. But since this is mine to you, I wanted to tell you a few things about it. Over many years, I have collected songs. I've shared them with friends. And they have shared their favorites with me. Some of the songs are popular. Some of them are not known by a whole lot of people. But they are all great in their own way. And since these songs have meant a lot to me, I just wanted you to have them as a soundtrack for whatever you need them to be for your life.
Maybe you are going through a bad time. Maybe this is the best time you've ever had. Maybe you are driving with your best friends in the world.Whatever it is and wherever you are, this is what I want you to know about this music.
Every artist in here could have said no to being on this mix, and they said yes. Because they cared. Just like music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas cared when she tried a hundred tunnel songs to make sure that Heroes was right. Just like the music editor Jennifer Nash cared when she worked on Come on Eileen until it made the homecoming dance come alive. Just like Michael Brook cared when he composed the perfect music for Charlie and Sam's first kiss.
And as for me, like Charlie said many years ago ... " I had an amazing feeling when I finally held this mix in my hand. I just thought to myself that in the palm of my hand, there was this one mix that had all of these memories and feeling and great joy and sadness. I thought about how many people have loved these songs. And how many people got through a lot of bad times because of these songs. And how many people enjoyed good times with those songs. And how much those songs really mean. I think it would be great to have written one of those songs. I bet if I wrote one of those songs I would be very proud. I hope the people who wrote those songs are happy. I hope that they feel it's enough. I really do because they've made me happy. And I'm only one person."
So, this mix tape is my happiness. This mix is my thank you to the artists and the fans and my colleagues who shared their favorite songs with me. And now... if you ever decide to drive through the Fort Pitt Tunnel like Charlie, Sam and Patrick, all I ask is that you put this mix on as loud as your ears can bare. And please God stay in the car!
